His Story: (Of what I know of it). Victory started off as a racehorse who ended up in the hands of 2 women veterinarians. I don't know what happened to him between the time he left the racetrack and came to be in the hands of the 2 women but he was with them for a while before he came to live on Hatzic Island where Nicky had arrived just day's before from Kelowna, and this is pretty much where his story starts...

...there was single strand wire for fencing; the barn, a run in with 2 stalls and a wide walkway; and a pond that flooded half of their field, turning the water into thick ice in the winter. We had a deal with the owners of the place that we only had to buy Nicky's grain, saddle/bridle and accesories, and brushes. They were going to buy all Victory's things and do most of the work since we lived 15 minutes away by car. It ended up us doing all the work(ie. me, my mom and dad), cleaning stalls, filling water buckets, feeding hay and grain. Nick and Victory both suffered from lack of regular feedings because we couldn't always get there everyday. We bought Victorys cribbing collar, both of their grain(more often than not), 100 bales of hay(they bought it the first time), even his thyroid medication.

It was really nice there that summer: green grass, the fences stayed upright, and the barn was good shelter from the sun, we also found out Victory was illergic to mosquito bites and he got bumps all over his body from them. Fall was terrible because of the cold, and the starving condition they were both in, the fields also flooded leaving little to graze from. Winter froze the water in the field and was thick enough for a horse to stand on. Victory ended up slipping on it and getting cuts all over his legs and his owners had to go to work so they couldn't take care of him. I ended up doing it. Come spring we were having to put up falling over fences from all of the mud, and the barn roof leaked. Me and my parents got really fed up with them and moved Nicky to a place near my house on semi good notes. After we left they started taking better care of Victory but you could see he looked somewhat depressed. After a while they gave him back to the 2 veterinarian women and moved to Alberta...
